Edited by: Kwint Sommer on 13/03/2008 19:49:26 You screwed up the Market Quickbar badly, see here, and why did you screw with the alt key? It was working fine and while it wouldn't be the end of the world if you had just bound the same feature to some other key, you didn't. Alt-Z doesn't put brackets on my ship and it doesn't show me where moons are. Congratulations, in the name of "boosting" you completely ****** up two perfectly good things! I don't care if you have to get rid of the new content to do it, just make them work like they use to.

The UI is on even more ***** than usual. Docking/Undocking pretty much results in seizers.
Flipping back and forth between two clients ultimately and repeatably results in at least one of them crashing. (I'm using classic graphics and this was never a problem before)
Why did you **** with the alt key? Alt-z does not do what the alt key use to....I want to be able to see the brackets on moons again!
The market quickbar is nolonger in alphabetical order and adding lots of stuff to multiple folders results in existing entries disappearing. Between those two issues it is almost unusable for those who do large volumes of trading.
No responses? Really? Would it kill you to say "we're on it."
Honestly, I think we're at the point where this patch has screwed up so much stuff that you should role back to an earlier version, modify only the stats on ships and worry about all the bells and whistles later. Oh, you should also sack your entire QA department. You know, the guys that missed boot.ini being deleted from the root directory last patch and missed half a dozen serious errors this patch....

Originally by: Talkuth Rel I had an odd problem after installing the patch. Once I logged in, EVE kept trying to access my empty DVD drive. I had to open the drive to stop this. I am running the classic client on Windows XP Media Center.
I have not had the opportunity to log in since, but once I do I will see if this problem is repeatable and if so, file a bug report.
Assuming it persists I would attempt reinstalling before filing a bug report. I haven't seen anyone else report this issue so more likely than not some file got corrupted during the download/install of the patch and it will be fixed by reinstalling the client.

Originally by: Soleramnus Edited by: Soleramnus on 14/03/2008 23:05:55 I could not even get the patch to finish updating before it crashed and left me with the (Incompatible Build!) Server Status error. My experience:
1) Auto patcher didn't come up, so I manually downloaded the patch and hit the EXE file, as directed on the website. 2) Manual Patcher failed at the very end. Now I'm left with an out-of-date version; cannot connect. 3) Thankfully, I still had the EVE Premium installer. Reinstalled the whole client (which has now screwed my SSH tunnel, sigh--will probably post for help about that in a different thread). 4) For whatever reason, Auto Patcher appears on this freshly-installed version. That does its thing, and then *it* fails at the end too.
So I'm stuck with the old build, can't connect, and my SSH tunnel setup got messed up in the process.
Has anyone else had trouble just trying to *install* the patch, regardless of what the patch itself has broken/fixed?
I respect CCP a lot for all the work they've done on this beautiful game. Kudos to them. But I don't understand how a patch itself can crash before it fixes anything... seems counterintuitive to the whole idea of patching. Is there a patch for the patcher?
EDIT: Tried the Auto Patcher again, got this error:
VERIFICATION FAILURE "The patch was downloaded but it failed verification indicating that the file is corrupt. Would you like to download the file again?
You will not be able to enter the game until you download the patch."
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Reinstall the game and obviously use a fresh download of the client (with the patch already applied) to install it.

Why doesn't the cargo opening hotkey close my cargohold? It use to and that was good thing. If anything we need more of the hotkeys to work like this. Seriously, if it aint broke, don't fix it.
On the list of things that are broken: Running dual clients, the minimized one invariably drastically reduces RAM usage and freezes up on me post-patch and it never did before. I have changed nothing on my system save patching EVE.
The market quickbar, it doesn't sort alphabetically and putting a ton of things in folders results in items disappearing. This is not okay and needs to be fixed.
You changed alt, annoying but if alt-z did everything alt did I'd get over it. Well, it doesn't and it's a pain in the ass to scan and find moons now.
Your QA department fails at life and should be sacked.
To sum up, if you don't solve the dual-client issue I won't be resubscribing my second account for obvious reasons. By the way, some kind of official response or at least acknowledgment of this stuff would be nice. I learned the first time I submitted a petition that CCP customer service sucks but this is pushing it.

Originally by: Franga When will the API begin being functional again? Mine don't seem to be. Anyone else still not getting things like EVEMon and EFT not being able to get the info they want?
It's been active since Friday's downtime. It works fine for me and everyone else I know. Try reinstalling and if that fails talk to your ISP.

Originally by: nihlanth Are you guys serious? You cant just expect to have them roll it back especially since they made new ship changes? Im personally enjoying my Apoc with no fps issues and I would be gravely dissapointed to have them roll it back. And even if they do roll it back, what makes you think this would even fix these bugs? What makes you think that new bugs wont arise?
You guys are just butthurt that your armor and shield resists are lower, get over it.
Honestly, stop being so impatient - it is quite obvious they are working hard to fix these issues since we havent seen a single devblog since February.
I havent had any problems with the new patch. DONT ROLL IT BACK.
I'm not calling for them to roll it back quite yet but as someone who's second client perpetually freezes up and who is seriously affected by the changes to alt and the screwed up market quickbar I think I have a right to be ****ed. By the way, I'm happy with the ship changes and they could easily roll it back but keep those. The issue here is that I can't use 2 clients at once (nothing changed on my system except this patch) and they've screwed up things like the market quickbar which they claimed to have fixed on the internal server but apparently don't intend to fix on TQ for a while.
